All of our wood fence is constructed using primarily northern white ceadar. Some of our components such as lattice, post caps and 2" x 2" pickets are made of western red cedar. In some cases where excessive moisture is a problem we can use pressure treated or steel posts. We also offer post and rail fencing in locust hardwood and Western Red Cedar.
Cedar wood is the best choice for fences because of it's natural resistance to decay and wood boring insects. Combined with professional installation cedar fence will give you years of trouble free durability. Most of our wood fence panels are constructed with doweled rails that are inserted into the posts, rather than nailed on to the face of the post. All of our wood panels are construced using stainless steel ring-shanked nails to avoid rust. Left untreated, cedar will weather to a warm silver/gray. Cedar can also be treated with a wood preservative or stained.
Keep in mind the process of scrpaing and restaining or retreating will need to be repeated every couple of years to maintain the quality finish. Checking (which is commonly mistaken for cracking) is a natural occurrence in cedar. Checking does not take away from the strength of cedar yet adds to the rustic appeal of wood.
We also offer a full line of Pergola's, Trellis, Arbors and Cedar Lawn Furniture.
